Usage of infinitive

• Advices in English are structured the same way as orders and suggestions.

Remember to press the buttons

Make sure  to recharge the batteries everyday

• The same rules apply for advices in negative except the verb “try” wich is followed by “not”.

Don’t forget to clean up the kitchen

Try not to use my computer today, I need it

Roleplay

Person 1: hey! nice laptop. What’s this thing for?

Person 2: That’s a mobile hotspot. I use it to access the internet everywhere I go.

Person 1: So you can go online and all that?

Person 2: Yes, and I use google to find information on the web about astronomy,

movies, UFOS, just about anything.

Person 1: Sports? Cars?

Person 2: Yes, and I can exchange information with people too, I belong to a chat group about business.

Person 1: Mmm. I only use my computer to write letters and reports.

Person 2: Why don’t you get on the internet? It’s not difficult.

Person 1: Maybe I will. It sounds fun. 

Roleplay

Person 1: I found some instructions on google, but I’m still not sure how to use my new Iphone.

Person 2: Actually, it’s pretty easy. First of all, don’t forget to charge it.

Person 1: Then dial the number. And remember to press the call button.

Person 2: That’s all?

Person 1: Pretty much. Just make sure to charge it every other day and try not to drop it, It’s fragile.

Person 2: Good advice. Now I can keep in touch with my family and friends.
